A blue and white porcelain bottle vase with a globular body, a tall neck flaring to the mouth, and a raised ring where the neck meets the shoulder. Below the rim, the neck is painted with a band of waves above tall upright plantain leaves, and the ring carries a narrow band of scrolls. On the shoulder, a band of flowering scrolls sits above a border of pendant cloud collars dotted in white. The body is painted with large peony blossoms on leafy scrolling stems, above a wave band near the foot. The blue is deep and even, with darker touches in the leaves.
The glaze has a fine crackle. The base is glazed within a broad unglazed foot ring, with scattered iron specks. The vase is attributed to the middle Ming.
