A porcelain pitcher modelled as a kneeling bearded man in a broad-brimmed hat with a knob finial, holding a ewer in front of him. The ewer has an open mouth, a pierced spout and a loop handle.
The decoration is in blue and red on a cream ground. The hat and some of the beads on the cords hanging beside his ears are red. His robe is painted in blue with flowering scrolls, a collar of scrolling panels at the shoulders and a patterned belt, and the ewer is painted in blue as well.
The glaze is crackled all over. A crack line runs across one sleeve, and a few small chips show the body beneath. There are fissures near the base, visible in the photographs. The base is unglazed.
